Discover the religious heritage at Grainetière Abbey
Classified as a Historic Monument since 1946, theGrainetière Abbey can be visited freely or with a monk. Founded in 1130 by Benedictine monks, the fortified abbey was attacked during the Hundred Years' War and burned 3 times during the Wars of Religion. Since 1979, a priory has been installed there by the Congregation Notre-Dame d'Espérance with the presence of around ten monks.

Le Ardelay Castle, built in the 15th century, is one of the most remarkable examples of medieval and military architecture in the Region.
Originally, it was a castle mound, that is to say a wooden tower and fortifications, placed at the top of a mound.
