Whether public or private, the parks and gardens in the Vendée bocage open their doors to you during the national event “Rendez-vous aux jardins”, in order to make you discover their green settings.

Each garden is different: French-style, vegetable garden, landscaped… They contribute to the diversity of the natural heritage and are a lovely invitation to daydream with their changing colors over the seasons.

Not to be missed

The gardens of the Logis de la Chabotterie

Restored in 1900, they introduce 2 universes, separated by a central well.
Near the house is a pleasure garden with carpets of flowers and boxwood. On the park side, there is a vegetable garden in squares which mixes with the flowers to be cut. This French-style garden opens onto the park and becomes the point of perspective of the long bridle path.

The park of the Flocellière castle

The gardens surround the castle and consist of various parts: a medieval garden at the foot of the walls, formed of small squares of aromatic or medicinal plants. A terrace dominates the landscape of the Vendée bocage, planted with pruned yews. Then, the Italian garden extends at the foot of the Renaissance facade in successive terraces. And finally, a romantic park known as an English park, with giant sequoias...

The Auneau Park in Chantonnay

It offers a walk with remarkable panoramic views that refer to the landscape identity of Tuscany. The wall of the old vegetable garden is trellised with old roses, most of them English. Classified as a Remarkable Garden by the Ministry of Culture.

The Gardens of the House of Rural Life at La Flocellière

This associative garden invites you to a bucolic and educational walk in the heart of practical ecology: organic gardening, diversity of landscapes of the bocage and multiple flavors of forgotten vegetables...

The Garden of Saint-Pierre Priory in Réaumur

This park has kept its successive terraces up to the meadows and ponds. It dominates the Lay valley. It is a real invitation to a bucolic walk. This set recalls the religious purpose of the place, a plant cloister. Open for “Rendez-vous aux jardins”.

Free access

The landscaped parks and gardens offer places conducive to strolling and discovering century-old trees. Open all year round with free access.

Le Henri Jewel Park in Montaigu-Vendée is an ideal place for strolling or playing sports with its 11 hectares in the heart of downtown Montaigu. Still in Montaigu, the Val d'Asson Park is the new green lung of the city. It is a place for walking and relaxation open to all.

Along the Sèvre Nantaise, the Barbiniere Park in Saint-Laurent-sur-Sèvre allows you to observe the meanders and rocks of the Sèvre. The Gardens of the Cure in Mortagne-sur-Sèvre offer a superb panorama over the river, a vegetable garden, as well as several places to relax.

The layout of the Landreau Park Les Herbiers allows you to go around it with a family walk of 3 to 4 km accessible by stroller and wheelchair, pond, undergrowth and bridle paths. You will also find playgrounds for children as well as a sports course, 5 minutes walk from the town center of Les Herbiers. The ideal place for a snack break with the children!

Le Clemenceau Park in Chantonnay, as well as the St. Michael's Park at Les Essarts and the Rochettes Park in Montaigu are arranged around an old residence, in the town centre. They are lively places outside the schools.

Le Belleroche Park in Rocheservière offers lovely views of the Boulogne river and its rocky escarpments.

At Boufferé, the Senardiere Park constitutes one of the finest examples of squares on the island of the Renaissance in the Vendée.
