From July 17 to August 14, 2023, the Vendée Department is organizing the fifth edition of Voice and Music at the Priory. Come and discover concerts in an unusual place in the heart of Vendée Bocage, with family or friends!

Within a bond naturally conducive to listening and vocal expression, the purity of the voices of different ensembles will resonate during 5 concerts scheduled every Monday evening.

Monday, July 17, 2023 – PAUL LAY

For this concert at the Priory of Grammont, he will reinterpret with Isabel SÖRLING on vocals and Simon TAILLEU on double bass a voice and double bass duo, American popular music from the end of the 19th to the 20th century. From Gospel Songs to Nina Simone, the trio will showcase these great classics that have inspired generations of jazz artists. His latest solo album is #1 in sales in the jazz/blues category.

Monday, July 24, 2023 – GABI HARTMANN

Star in the making, Gabi Hartmann, singer and guitarist, is protected by Jesse Harris, mentor of Norah Jones and Melody Gardot. Drawing from her universe (Brazil, Guinea, Portugal, United States, Paris), she invites you on a musical journey of jazz, blues, bossa and soul, and combines French chanson with world music.

Monday, August 7, 2023 – DAFNE KRITHARAS

Franco-Greek singer, Dafné KRITHARAS, draws her cultural and musical influences from the cultures that lived together for four centuries under the Ottoman Empire: Greek, Sephardic, Bosnian, Armenian, Turkish songs... Virtuoso, she breathes a modern tone borrowing from jazz or electro and expresses through her repertoire the strong attachment that connects her to what she calls her "origins". With her album "Varka", Dafné KRITHARAS was awarded the Prix de l'Académie Charles Cros in 2022.

Nourished by current influences, Egregor vocal, a Vendée ensemble, has become a lasting part of the A Cappella landscape in France and abroad thanks to the quality and originality of its concerts, around a limitless repertoire of styles, or eras ranging from medieval music to contemporary music, including jazz/pop standards.
