The lounge
Le Refuge du Livre, the Vendée book fair is located in the heart of the Grasla forest massif, in the Vendée bocage. It was created to publicize the diversity and richness of literary creation in Vendée.
The largest open-air library in Vendée allows summer visitors and visitors to meet authors, take part in literary events and discover new nuggets. An event rich in emotions for young and old!
2022 Edition
On Saturday August 27 and Sunday August 28, 2022, the Refuge du Livre returns for its 11th edition! At each edition, Le Refuge du Livre welcomes a delegation of authors from another region. The honorary president of this 11th edition is Annie Degroote. She represents the Hauts-de-France delegation.
In 2022, nearly 90 authors are present to sign and sell their books, and discuss literary favorites!
The Charette Prize
Each year, the Charette prize rewards an author and a work representing the Vendée temperament through writing.

Entertainment
Throughout the weekend, family and friendly entertainment is presented. Come and attend the various conferences:
- Saturday from 15:30 p.m. to 16 p.m.: Conference on The Roman in the History of the North
- Saturday from 16 p.m. to 16 p.m.: Conference on Living History – cinematographic, theatrical, literary adaptations
- Sunday from 16 p.m. to 16 p.m.: Conference on The Carnival of Dunkirk
- Sunday from 16:30 p.m. to 17 p.m.: Conference on Exceptional women in Hauts-de-France
Several youth activities are also offered:
- Saturday from 15 p.m. to 16 p.m.: Workshop “Create your Heroic Fantasy universe”
- Saturday from 16:30 p.m. to 17:30 p.m.: Telling carpet The 3 tales (Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, Hansel and Gretel)
- Sunday from 15:30 p.m. to 16:30 p.m.: “Initiation to watercolor” workshop
