Behind the scenes, there is excitement a few months before the opening, because behind the beautiful summer evenings are actually hiding 750 volunteers, led by the various managers, who work on several dates each year in the various departments, enormous for a municipality. of 1600 inhabitants, right?
From catering to VIP reception and car parks, 250 people are mobilized every evening: the objective is to maintain the same state of mind.
Fan of the festival and curious about its organization, I went to question Thomas, programmer and general manager of the festival:
Thomas, how do you explain the longevity of the Festival?
“It all started with a village fete in 1987, and today the festival is one of the most renowned in the West. This is obviously due to the commitment of volunteers who are always enthusiastic about the idea of lending a hand on concert evenings. The goal is to be serious, without taking yourself seriously. We try to get as close as possible to the expectations of festival-goers”
How do you see the future of the Festival?
“Today, a whole team of young people formerly called “the next generation” is an integral part of the festival's organizing team, which makes it easier to project oneself. The objective is to continue on the same path with the same state of mind and a varied and surprising program!”
