The holiday village is an accommodation center, the subject of a global operation of a commercial or non-commercial nature.

It offers holiday stays with a fixed price including meals (board), the use of common facilities (swimming pool, leisure facilities), sports facilities and collective entertainment (articles D. 325-1 et seq. of the tourism code).

All the constituent elements of a holiday village are in principle grouped together on the same land but it can also be a holiday village with the mention “dispersed accommodation” made up of accommodation spread across the territory of the municipality or on the territory of contiguous municipalities.

The buildings are constructed of traditional materials on foundations, but it can also be a holiday village with the label “light accommodation”, made up of premises that can be dismantled, transported or towed.
