Georges Clemenceau is buried next to his father's grave in Le Colombier
Born in 1841 in Mouilleron en Pareds, Georges Clemenceau spent his childhood in Vendée. Doctor, journalist, politician, he was President of the Council from 1906 to 1909 then from 1917 to 1919. History has remembered his decisive action for victory during the First World War. In 1929, he chose Mouchamps as his final resting place. It is in the Bois du Colombier (former family home) that he rests with his father. Reading tables and interactive terminal, stage of the heritage trail "La Vendée de Clémenceau".
