Animations on the water
A boat trip along the water, upstream from the mill, where the Maine river is wilder. In peace, observe the fauna and flora that surround you.
- La free boat rental for 45 min or 1h30 – in autonomy. Without reservation, limited number of places. The little extra: discover, thanks to support prepared by the nature guides, the fauna and flora of the river!
- Exploration by boat, go with one nature animator on the trail of insects, birds, plants and mammals. Sundays in July and August at 15:30 p.m. (duration: 1 hour). On reservation at 02 51 46 44 67. Adult €8, Child (3-13 years old) €6.
- “Aperitif on board” : when the site closes, privatize a boat and sail for a unusual aperitif with friends or among friends with a generous basket of local products : Friday and Saturday evenings in July and August from 19 p.m. – by reservation. Consult theagenda. Package for 4 people: €80.
New products from the Maison de la Rivière in Vendée
- The guided walk at dusk (from 3 years) : in the setting sun, when some people fall asleep, another people wake up! No more preconceived ideas about fears of the night. Follow the guide and embark on the river for a balade full of good surprises! Wednesdays in July at 20:30 p.m., Wednesdays in August at 20 p.m. Duration: 1h30. On reservation only.
- The on-board brunch : this is the unmissable gourmet outing of the weekend ! Embark on the river and share carefully prepared savory and sweet treats. At 11 a.m. (duration: 2 hours). 25€/person. By reservation. Sundays: July 7, 14, 21 and 28 and August 4, 11, 18 and 25, 2024.
An exhibition in the middle of nature and in the mill
Every summer, the site is dressed in colors with an exhibition surrounded by nature, on the banks of the Maine. The visit continues in the mill renovated water heater. The originality lies in the visit route which takes place both indoors and outdoors with the possibility of discovering works while sailing on Grande Maine.
the 1er May to September 29, 2024, the Maison de la Rivière team offers you a selection of photographs of BIOQUEST : Flowers or corals?. Based in Australia, Bioquest is a production company specializing in scientific imaging for over 40 years. Discover around thirty freely accessible photographs on the banks of the Grande Maine, then extend the discovery with the exhibition in the mill, and in large format on the river with a boat rental.
Family entertainment
La Maison de la Rivière offers visitors in family, a treasure hunt to have fun and discover the site. Every year, the team concocts a new treasure hunt 'Club des intrépides' around the current art exhibition, in 2024 " Ready, set, shop! ". Twilight licorice is a unique flower: its nectar is said to make the most hideous of butterflies cute. Unfortunately, she fell ill. Go on an adventure and help Bzitt the bee to heal her!

Organized by the association Les Estivales de la Rivière, 3 Saturday evenings in the summer, the site of the Maison de la Rivière becomes a special place for musicians: aperitif-concert and fireworks.
