The Tiffauges Christmas market in Vendée Bocage
Immerse yourself in the magic of Christmas in the heart of the medieval castle! Let yourself be transported into the atmosphere of an authentic and family Christmas market on the theme of 2023 “where the stars are born".
- Friday November 29 and December 6, 2024 from 18 p.m. to 22 p.m.
- Saturday November 30 and December 7, 2024 from 14 p.m. to 22 p.m.
- Sunday December 1 and 8, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 20 p.m.
Distributed more than half of the site (i.e. 2 ha), around sixty local artisans and producers are present to make you discover traditional products of the region and propose Christmas presents and various objects to decorate the tree. Come and discover around fifty wooden chalets, more than 200 fir trees, illuminations, handcrafted decorations, all in a warm atmosphere that transports you into the magical atmosphere of the end-of-year festivities.
Songs, shows, illuminations of the castle and projections, let yourself be carried away in a magical atmosphere in the heart of an exceptional historic site.
On the entertainment program:
- Traditional Christmas carols : On the stage of the west curtain, more than 30 young singers and dancersVendée Musical Institute will perform traditional Christmas carols. Several times a day, they will invite visitors of all ages to join them in singing well-known tunes.
- Lyrical songs : During the two opening weekends of the Christmas market, you will be able to enjoy original creations of traditional Christmas carols, particularly in the chapel, two lyrical artists, proposed by theMUSICAL ART association, will unite their voices to perform classic Christmas carols.
- traditional carousel : Come and try the large traditional wooden carousel with the horses (fee)
- Santa Claus Village : its post office, the little chalets or even Christmas fishing
- Farm animals : More than forty animals will be present to delight young and old alike (lambs, sheep, goats, alpacas, rabbits, etc.)
- A big tree 10 meters high with sublime Christmas decorations
- Two photo points free access to return from the market with a souvenir of the visit!
New products for 2023 from the Christmas Market in Tiffauges
The Department will introduce two new activities:
- Un additional walking space for visitors (at the headquarters camp), complete with a shadow theater in the stand and musical entertainment.
- Personalized artistic performances at the entrance to the castle, presented by the Libellune company, aiming to welcome visitors and liven up the site upon their arrival.

The Herbiers Christmas parade in Vendée Bocage
Come experience the magic of Christmas in a family and festive atmosphere! For the 10th edition of the Herbiers Christmas parade, the city will be celebrating! Floats, confetti and fanfare music on a route of approximately 1,5 km in the town center of Les Herbiers.

“Traditional Christmases” at Logis de la Chabotterie in Vendée Bocage
Festival for young audiences – Family Christmas
A snow-covered site shining with a thousand lights, a magical winter atmosphere, two days of entertainment for young and old, here is the program of activities and shows at Logis de la Chabotterie, in Montréverd.
Rediscover traditional Christmases with numerous free activities and a wonderful exhibition in the heart of the home!
Stock up on activities with the little train, the carousel, the puppet show, the balloon sculptor, the mini farm, the magician… and much more! On stage, the shows follow one another. Find in particular “Cookies and Nougatine” and “Le Pôle Nord s’agite” by La Comédie des Rêves. On Sunday, the Vent des Cirques company presents its show “Lettre de Noël”. Under the yurt, storytellers introduce you to traditional tales.
Take advantage of the different stands to taste roasted chestnuts or gingerbread.
Finally, you will be dazzled by the pyromusical closing show My First Christmas.

Exhibition “Traditional Christmas”
The Marquis Givré, the cook Dame Tartine, and the musician Mélodie, take you through the house to discover an astonishing scenography that evokes the traditional imagination of Christmas. Five rooms are specially decorated to guide you into magical atmospheres. A true poetic and, sometimes, humorous journey. Discover the home like you've never seen it before!

Major Christmas events near Vendée Bocage
The Christmas Fair at Maizellais Abbey
Heading to the desert with the oriental fair of the Maillezais Abbey. Here, the stalls and tents of around sixty exhibitors await you for a unique moment. During the day, the shows, Christmas songs and strolls delight children and parents. At night, the fire show from the company L'Arche en sel is a real eye-opener for visitors.

Christmas at Haras de la Vendée
To the Roche-sur-Yon, the Haras invites you to discover the large 1900 carousel in the main courtyard, a Guignol show, children's stories, wooden games, carriage rides and even circus workshops. Meet the horses from the stud farm and take a pony ride through the park.
Twice a day, let yourself be transported by the magic of dreams thanks to the horse show Dream at the station and follow the adventures of a little girl from the 19th century. On stage, the artists impress you with their performances and the animals amaze you with their talent.
