VENDÉE VITRAIL

Located in the heart of the Saint-Hilaire church in Mortagne-sur-Sèvre, Vendée Vitrail offers a fun and interactive discovery of the art of stained glass.
Extraordinary reconversion for this church restored from 2017 to 2018 to accommodate this cultural project!
To be discovered in a themed way, spaces are dedicated to the art of stained glass: from its design to its creation.

Attend a regular projection mixing light effects and sound immersion: Louis Mazetier's stained glass window (10 meters high and weighing 4 tons), the centerpiece of the site; initially designed to be installed in one of the high bays of the nave of Notre-Dame de Paris. The latter was only placed in the cathedral for a few months, crated, stored and then “forgotten” in the stands of Notre-Dame to escape the Second World War.
