New visit sites
The labyrinth at Vendrennes
For this new season, the labyrinth en Vendée Vallée opens its doors in Vendrennes on Saturday 8 July and presents “DE L'ART AU COCHON”. Behind each person, a talent is hidden… come and discover yours! Solve puzzles perform skill games, challenges, and in a humorous way you will find, or not, the outcome of this corn maze!
- Open daily from July 8 to September 3, 2023 from 10:30 a.m. to 20 p.m.
- Nocturnes until midnight: Wednesday and Saturday evenings
- Shop with local products, mini farm, body of water, refreshment bar
- Prices: €9 – €7,50 reduced price (3 to 12 years old) – under 3 years old: free
The Castle of Essarts
The Castle of Essarts has been open since the April holidays but summer activities enliven the site during the day and evening.
During the day, discover several shows at the heart of the site: Gossip and cooking, the Fairy Doors, the Chronicles of Guillemette and the meeting with the druid Diria immerse you in the history of the castle and its legends.
For young and old, many adventure and nature trails are available with games of yesteryear and a tramponet in the trees.
On Sundays at 21 p.m., attend the “open stages”. The castle makes its stage space available to artists and talents from the region.
- Open from July 10 to August 27, 2023, daily from 11 a.m. to 20 p.m.. From July 2 to 9, open from 14 p.m. to 19 p.m.
- Prices: €8 to €12 - €6 to €10 children from 4 to 12 years old – and under 4 years old: free

The Château de Saint-Mesmin, the "fortified" castle with entertainment
Au Castle of Saint-Mesmin daily medieval events enliven the site. Summer 2023 is placed under the theme "Funny war". From Sunday July 9 to Wednesday August 30, in the barnyard, in the chapel and in the house, animations allow you to dive into the universe of a phoney war to meet a recruiting sergeant, a chronicler and a spy.
Also available at reception: new grand castle puzzle game "Haro on the poisoner », in the form of an investigation to unmask who poisoned Pierre de Montfaucon, the lord of the place. A playful moment of one hour of play to do with family or friends to discover the castle while playing.

Waterfront activities
Supervised swimming at the Touchegray leisure center
Le Touchgray Lake in Chantonnay comes alive all summer long. There supervised bathing starts on June 24 with a sandy beach. The canoe-kayak rental, stand-up paddle and pedalo as well as an aquapark with obstacles and slides are accessible every day. The leisure area is animated from time to time with “Leaving in a book” activities, horse-drawn carriage rides, rope games, etc.
- Supervised swimming from June 24 to September 10, 2023, every day from 12 p.m. to 19 p.m.. Free.
- Aquapark open from 12 p.m. to 19 p.m. – prices €6/30 min and €9/1h
The House of the River – Lands of Montaigu
La River House in Montaigu-Vendée is a natural area on the banks of the Grande Maine river. The site is animated with an outdoor exhibition on the banks of the Grande Maine and in the mill. Extend your discovery of the site with a boat trip.
- Open every day from 11 a.m. to 19 p.m., from July 1 to August 31
- Access to the natural area, on the banks and in the mill is totally free.
- Boat rentals, guided walks are chargeable as well as the treasure hunt which is at a single price at 8€/family.
The Poupet Valley in Saint Malo du Bois
The Vallée de Poupet is a natural space on the edge of the Sevre Nantes, it's the occasion of a beautiful day with the family. Several possibilities of discovery:
- Pedestrian paths with possibilities to cross the Sèvre on roadways and thanks to a chain ferry, the Bac de Chambon.
- A ride on an electric scooter with Trotting & Nature, by reservation.
- A canoe trip from the leisure centre, every afternoon in July and August,
- Picnic areas, thePoupet Inn for a refreshing break or lunch on the terrace.

Activities in the middle of nature
Amanéa trail – Vouraie lake
A new path has been laid out along the Vouraie lake in Bournezeau – Saint Hilaire le Vouhis : A emotional path What is that ? Imagine… you walk on the path, mobiles made of slates ring at the top of the trees, further away wooden poles whistle. Along this 2,5 km path in the forest and around the lake, 21 artistic stages to experience and 11 sound experiences on stone and wood works.
Free and free access all year round. Departure from the place called La Martinière in Bournezeau, GPS coordinates: 46.664999/-1.180872. The trail includes narrow and steep parts. Not suitable for pushchairs and people with reduced mobility. Provide walking shoes.
