Pierre de Montfaucon, Lord of this castle, had the fortress built around 1370. In the Middle Ages, the castle was surrounded by water moats, fed by the river “Le Sevreau”. The Montfaucon family fortified the castle by adding the imposing keep of 28 meters in the XNUMXth century, crowned with a walkway. It is then accessed by a drawbridge.

Place of residence, the stately home has a proud appearance. The keep is both residential and defensive. The only vaulted room on the ground floor serves as a chapel. A beautiful spiral staircase provides access to the various furnished rooms on the upper floors, up to the walkway on battlements.

Treasure hunt - In search of lost coats of arms : The treasure chest of the castle of Saint Mesmin has not been opened for a very long time. Lord Pierre de Montfaucon lost the secret code to open it. To mark the year 2024 as the year of organization of the Summer Olympic Games in France, the Château de Saint Mesmin will organize medieval challenges: trials, competitions, games... The middle page will be presented to all visitors as a transitional period competition between men and women, leaving ample room for:
Culinary challenges (between hygiene, dietetics, recipes and remedies)
Mental challenges (table games, word games, riddles, rebuses)

The castle of Saint Mesmin launches its new big puzzle game " Haro on the poisoner "!
A fun time to do in family or between friends, for adults and children to go to the discovery of the castle while playing.
Like real adventurers, it will be about lead the investigation in order to unmask the spy who poisoned Pierre de Montfaucon, the lord of the castle!
Available on site, a game grimoire and on your side of common sense, observation, cooperation, insight and above all a good dose of good humor!
Per team of 2 to 5 people, the investigation takes place in the castle and requires game time minimum of one hour to try to unravel the mystery of the poisoning...
